With the IPCL you can now enjoy visual correction that’s sharp, clean, more vivid and has great contrast and dimension. After a short 15 minute medical procedure to insert the IPCL, patients experience an immediate improvement in vision.
WHAT IS IPCL?
An Implantable Phakic Contact Lens (IPCL) is like a soft contact lens, which can be inserted into the eye to correct vision.
The lens is customised according to the power, shape and size of each eye. The IPCL is available in a wide range of powers to correct eyes with very high prescriptions.
The IPCL lens is implanted inside the eye, between the iris and the natural lens. It is inserted into the eye through a small incision, to correct errors within the eye’s optical system.
Once implanted in the eye, the IPCL stays indefi nitely. It can be replaced or removed from the eye should vision change over a period of time.
WHY IPCL?
Not happy with wearing spectacles or contact lenses?
IPCL can be your solution…
Designed to last Forever but Removable
IPCL is intended to be permanently placed inside your eye to correct your vision. The most important advantage is that it can be removed or replaced easily, if necessary.
With the IPCL surgical procedure no corneal tissue is removed or reshaped, unlike the Lasik procedure whereby healthy corneal tissue is removed permanently.
Minimal recovery time
The recovery time after the IPCL implantation is quick and pain free. Most patients recover within a day or less, due to the very small incision required for the surgery.Usually patient’s experience minimal discomfort, and can resume their work within a day.
Invisible & Unnoticeable IPCL is positioned between the iris and your natural lens. It is invisible to you and others. The fi xed position of the IPCL allows it to work in complete harmony with the rest of your eye. The only way that you or anyone else come to know it’s there, is the improvement in your eye sight. You will neither be able to see nor feel the IPCL once it is inside your eye.
Flexibility for the Future
As time passes and we grow older, our vision changes. It is likely that you can develop a cataract, which would require cataract surgery. A signifi cant benefi t with the IPCL is that you will have future options available to you, when the time comes.
The IPCL lens can be removed and replaced if your vision changes signifi cantly. And you can have another procedure at any time.
UV Protection Long-term or intense exposure to ultra violet radiation can damage your eyes and increase the risk of eye disorders, like cataract formation. The IPCL is manufactured with an advanced hybrid hydrophilic material which contains a UV fi lter that prevents harmful UV rays from entering the most sensitive part of your eye.
